According to an official closely following the matter, who preferred to be anonymous, made an announcement earlier today (October 15th). A brand new service that will centralise how business owners and investors licence their business is all set to be launched by Dubai’s Department of Economic Development (DED).
According to the source close to the matter, “Prior to licensing a business, new businesses and owners have to take various steps and measures, that includes land department, municipality, etc. With this new service, it will enable them to pay all types of fees connected with licensing a business in an online location and also file for documentation.”
As per reports, currently, the new service is being demonstrated by DED at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) that will go on from October 14-18 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
“We aim to launch this service officially within the next couple of weeks but first we are demonstrating this service to professionals at the event,” the source close to the matter further added.
In order to facilitate the new business registration and licensing with an aim of improving the economy of Emirate, DED has been working on various initiatives.
Back in the previous month, DED made an announcement stating that dual licence would be available for businesses that are based in certain free-zones, the dual licenses would then, in turn, enable those businesses to carry out operations on the mainland in the Emirate.
Also at the start of the year a ‘5-minute business registration’ service was launched by DED, the main aim of this service was to target new businesses and start-ups that wish to test their products in the market, with the need to meet traditional requirements linked with running a business in Dubai, for instance renting an office space.
